15 Aug 08 Boxed Game Update Highway to the Reich has finished pledge shipping. China: The Middle Kingdom (CMK) and WITP Extension Kit have finished pledge shipping. Individual orders of Lightning Poland and the basic fighter deck set of Flying Circus have shipped.
Flying Circus Deluxe includes the basic fighter deck (which is already being sold separately in a Lightning series box), plus the bomber and scout deck, the pilot mini-deck, the campaign cards, and the Campaign Analysis booklet. Pledge orders for Flying Circus Deluxe will continue to be processed until 14 Aug (#11 on the pledge order page).
15 Aug 08 Strategy & Tactics Update Strategy & Tactics #251 features the double-sized game Operation Cobra which covers D-Day from the landings to breakout. S&T#252 is in route from the printer.
15 Aug 08 War in Europe Windows Edition Nearing Completion! The Windows edition of Computer War in Europe is getting close to being finished. Based on our latest discussion with Karl, we are anticipating this long-awaited project will be released later this year. We are getting weekly updates from Karl and it is getting close to turn-in. Once in-house, we anticipate it will take about two months to complete production and begin shipping.
26 Jul 08 New Special Feedback A new Special Feedback has been added to the Strategy & Tactics Press site. This Feedback focuses on the Special Edition games for Strategy & Tactics and a future line of Strategy & Tactics computer games. As S&T customers will recall, we did a survey two years ago and determined that the readership wanted to see us pursue computer games to go with S&T magazine. We are now ready to begin working on computer game conversions and want your input into what games to work on. Development is ready to begin on Barbarossa (World at War #1), Bulge (World at War #3), Nine Navies War, and Red Dragon Rising (S&T#250) as starting points for our development teams and we want your input on what games they should work on after this group. 08 Aug 08 World at War Update World at War #2 (Solomons Campaign) has shipped to all subscribers and stores. World at War #1 is down to the last couple dozen copies and is available only by subscription. Because issues #1-4 were printed together, the availability of individual copies may be limited for #2-4 as well. Subscriptions will continue to be accepted starting from the first issue until the remaining copies are sold out. Results of the Mega-Feedback for games in #13-20 will appear in issue #3.
23 Jun 08 DG Associates Update
Excalibre Games (Robert Mosimann): Robert is in the process of proofing the maps and finishing the rules for his four games. The counters are a sticking point right now and a new artist is being sought to finish the project. Once the component artwork is finished, the box covers, pre-press preparation, and printing will take about three to four months. Hopefully, these will be released late this year or in early 2009: The Conquerors, Battle of Stalingrad, Ancient Conquest, and A Mighty Fortress.

Schroeder Publishing/Wargames (SPW - Dave Schroeder) Middle East Campaigns has been delayed. Dave was called up back in 2003 and has been working full-time in the Army Reserve. The demand on his time has pulled him away from finishing the remainder of the Mid-East artwork. He apologizes for the delay and hopes to have the artwork completed by the end of this year (and let's give him a round of applause for his outstanding service – he's been promoted to Lieutenant-Colonel and now commands a battalion!). Gorlice-Tarnow and the Brusilov Offensive are back in print. Middle East Campaigns will include four full maps (one for each of the four Ottoman fronts (Caucasus, Mesopotamia, Palestine, and Gallipoli) along with three counter sheets. Duration: the Grand Campaign will be the next volume and will include everything needed to play a full Der Weltkrieg campaign game. Both may be pledged on the pledge page and through the latest Dispatch.
23 Jun 08 Call for Magazine Game Design Proposals! The next Mega-Feedbacks will appear in S&T#256 and World at War #5. Submit your game proposals to the publisher at ccummins@bak.rr.com – proposals should be 100-150 words briefly describing the proposed battle or campaign and the game system. Proposals should indicate the unit size/scale and the number and size of the counters. Proposals must be submitted by 31 Oct 08. Designers will be notified of proposals selected for publication and will need to submit the finished designs by December 2009. Thanks to those who have submitted proposals and welcome to the first timers!
